From Engagement to “I Do”: A Journey Through Love at Lafayette Park

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a couple who were just beginning their journey toward marriage. We spent the day capturing their engagement at Lafayette Park and Lafayette Square near Downtown St. Louis, Missouri. Now, as they prepare to exchange vows, I’m honored to be the one to photograph their wedding day—a full-circle moment that’s as special for me as it is for them.

Capturing the Romance at Lafayette Park

Our engagement session began at Lafayette Park, a location that perfectly embodied the couple's love story. The park was in full bloom, with vibrant flowers creating a colorful backdrop. We wandered through the park, finding the perfect spots that felt intimate and romantic. The bridge and swans added an extra layer of charm, making each shot feel like a scene from a love story. The natural beauty of Lafayette Park gave the session a timeless and serene vibe, perfectly capturing the essence of their relationship.

Nostalgic Moments at Lafayette Square

After exploring Lafayette Park, we moved on to Lafayette Square, known for its historic and picturesque houses. This area gave us the opportunity to play with different lighting, resulting in photos that felt like they were straight out of a nostalgic movie. The direct sunlight added a warm, golden glow, while the shadows from the surrounding buildings brought depth and texture to the images. Each shot was a blend of classic and modern, reflecting the couple’s unique style and connection.

Looking Forward to Their Big Day

As I look back on those photos, I’m filled with excitement for their upcoming wedding. The engagement session was just a glimpse into the love and commitment they share, and I can’t wait to see how that love has grown over the past two years. Lafayette Park and Lafayette Square provided the perfect settings to capture the beginning of their journey, and now, their wedding day will be another beautiful chapter in their story.
